What is long term care? Long term care refers to a wide range of services to people who need assistance with certain Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) or who need supervision due to a Cognitive Impairment. Long Term Care is typically not covered by Medical Insurance, Medicare Supplements or Medicare. Medicaid, the federal and state funded program is for those with limited or no assets and or income.
